With all the news of numerous inbounds avalanche’s at numerous west coast ski resorts (Mammoth, Squaw, Snowbird, etc…) the past 2 years, might be a good idea to think about avalanche safety.  Recco sells an inexpensive reflector system for only $25 that many ski resorts in the world use to find victims.  Some of you might already have this reflector system built into your ski clothing, but in case you don’t you can purchase the reflectors themselves here:

Might be good idea to mount to your boots since all your other gear might get ripped off during an avalanche.

Yes Mammoth Mountain uses the Recco detector system in case you were wondering.

This reflector will supplement an avalanche beacon I’m currently using.  If you’re interested in avalanche beacons, let me know and I’ll send you more information but they typically run around $400.

Not promoting a product, just wanna make sure my friends are safe.
